Coyote Summer
Mimi Thebo (, Bath, England)
Sometimes I get that feeling like everyone can see right through me. Like all my secrets and thoughts and things I don’t want anyone to see are hanging all over me.
My mum has exiled me; sent me halfway across the world to live with her sister in Kansas. Have you ever been to Kansas? The emptiness is overwhelming.
Everyone thinks I’m a failure. But then he sees me. The coyote, eyes golden and wild. And I guess it’s because someone’s watching me, but I start to dance.
With hauntingly-beautiful writing from Mimi Thebo, author of Dreaming the Bear, Coyote Summer will stay with you long after you put the book down.

This almost made me feel sick about the boyfriend and girl friend.

When Julie's rich mum sends her away to Kansas, Julie is furious. But she soon learns to love the place and it's inhabitants, and as she gazes out into an overgrown field, she spots him. A coyote. In a flowing tale of revelation and emotion, Julie and her coyote realise that though they have grown strong on each other's shoulders, they must stand strong alone too. A mournful, melancholy tale that haunts you long after you finish the book.

An exellent book-though the characters started out as unlikable (in my view) it was inspiring to see them grow and improve as the story progressed.
