I thought that it was quite good and it it taught me loads of stuff that I didn't know about beetles. I didn't overly like the illustrations though, especially on the front cover. I liked the general story although I find it hard to believe that such grown-ups as Uncle Max exist and that Virginia's mum let Virginia go to the USA. I think that my favourite character was Novak because she risked so much for Darkus and his friends, she was so brave and coped really well with understanding that she was half beetle and Novak stayed on Darkus's side when it would of been so easy to just give into her mothers will.

I loved this sequel to Beetle boy. My favourite character is Novak because she is a good friend. I would definitely recommend this book to someone else.
