Amelie has always loved dogs, but she never dreamed that she’d end up with two of them! Their puppy, Monty, has only been with them for a few months when her family offer to take in her grandad’s beloved Daisy as he has to go into a care home. Amelie promises Grandad they will look after the old dachshund brilliantly. But when Daisy arrives, she is obviously unhappy and scared. Meanwhile, Monty doesn’t understand why there is another dog in his house. And with Amelie making such a fuss over the new arrival, he soon starts to feel very unwanted. Doesn’t Amelie care about him any more?

A brand new tale in the Animal Stories series from best-selling author Holly Webb. Monty The Sad Puppy is the 35th book in Holly Webb’s Animal Stories series, a must for animal loving girls aged around six to eight years.

It's an amazing book about a dog being lonely because his owners are paying attention to a dog that they're looking after for a relative and he want more attention on him He tries to escape and everybody goes to find him in the end both of the dogs are treated fairly 5 stars

I liked it when the girl and Monty were happy it was sad that when Daisy had to say bye to Grandad. I didn’t like when she fussed over Daisy, and Monty felt not really loved. While the girl and her brother was at school, Monty found a hole in the fence and went through it. Daisy didn’t come, Monty went off.

My favourite character is Monty the Labrador because he was only a puppy but he understands that Daisy the dachshund needed special attention because she was upset about Grandad.

I was worried when Monty ran away. You should never run away because no problem is ever big enough for that and someone always loves you. I was happy in the end when Amelie and Daisy found Monty hiding in the park!

Some bits were sad but it was well written and it made me want to read on. I think lots of people would love this book and I would recommend it to dog and animal lovers. My favourite character was Monty because he was a really cute little labrador and I liked the adventures he had and I understood why he felt a bit upset as I would feel that way too.

This was ok, the ending was a bit confusing because it was monty goes to somewhere And hides under a bench and he was found very quickly where that wouldn’t happen in real life. You like the author as I have read some others but felt it finished too quickly , would like her to tell stories a bit longer.
