All alone, with only stories for company, Henry discovers that Hope House is full of strange secrets: a forgotten attic, ghostly figures, mysterious firelight that flickers in the trees beyond the garden. One night she ventures into the darkness of Nightingale Wood. What she finds there will change her whole world … A beautifully told debut with a classic feel, incorporating themes of family, loss and childhood loneliness.  Ideal for fans of Emma Carroll and Hilary McKay. A perfect gift for readers aged 9 and up.

I liked this book because it was interesting and an adventure story. I liked the mystery of it and the way that the main character beat the villains. My favourite characters were Moth and Piglet because Moth is really kind, cool and adds to the mystery of the book and Piglet is really funny.

I thought that this book is intriguing and full of twists and turns. The book is fiction, about a girl called Henrietta and her family. Her family is tried to be taken away from her. Her little sister and Mum, who is sick, are rescued by Henrietta. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to connect with book and loves mysteries.

I enjoyed this book. It was very gripping and spooky! The author wrote in a very detailed way helping me to imagine the scene and feel as though I was with Henrietta (the main character) throughout the whole story. My favourite character was Henrietta as she was very determined and brave even though she was experiencing some very tough moments in her life. This book is very inspiring as it gives a message to never give up no matter how hard the situation is.

The person I liked best was Henrietta because even though she was going through a hard time in her life, she still didn’t give up and managed to piece her family back together. I would definately recommend this book.

I love this book. I thoughted that it was so sad that Henryeta's family needed to seperate. My faviroute charter is Piglet/Ruberta because at the end, when farther says to Piglet, whats your name, Piglet says BOBBY!!!

Absolutely loved this magical book. The characters- especially Hen- are all interesting. It takes a while to get into it, but this is one of those books which if you just give it a chance, you are rewarded. Blown away.
