A beautifully illustrated children’s book from award-winning poet and novelist Anne Michaels, ideal for cake and cat lovers from six to sixty!

‘Practically purr-fect’ – Daily Mail

Meet the utterly irresistible Miss Petitfour (a name of unknown origin but possibly descended from bakers of tiny delicious cakes). She loves baking and making and dancing with her cats, but most of all she loves to fly. All she has to do is pick up a favourite tablecloth (preferably the one with the paisley print), catch the breeze and she swooshes off on an adventure – with her many cats (Minky, Misty, Taffy, Purrsia, Pirate, Mustard, Moutarde, Hemdala, Earring, Grigorovich, Clasby, Captain Captain, Captain Catkin, Captain Clothespin, Your Shyness and Sizzles) dangling paw-to-tail behind her.

In five utterly captivating stories of gentle adventure, delicious edibles (with cheese for the cats), occasional peril and heart-zinging warmth, poet and novelist Anne Michaels (author of bestselling, award-winning Fugitive Pieces) makes a charming, purrfect debut as a children’s author.

I liked that there were a lot of cats and that the cats were named something for a reason. Also, I liked that Miss Petitfour could just fly away using her favourite table cloth because I have always wanted to fly. Another reason I like this book is because Miss Petitfour is an adventurous, young woman and I like woman like that. I also like that you want to know the names of the cats but there are too many to remember all of them. I thought this book was extraordinary.

My favourite character is Miss Petitfour. I would recommend to friends the bit when Mr. Coneybeare made an experiment of Super Sticky Confetti but it exploded and Mr. Coneybeare ended up in Extra shiny Confetti and was covered head to toe.

I liked this book because there are lots of cats. My favourite part when it was talking about how the three captains and pirate stayed inside the leaf house.
