Some people think that museums are boring places full of glass cases, dust and stuff no-one cares about: wrong! In a hidden headquarters below the exhibits there's a gang ready to handle dangerous, spooky or just plain weird problems: the Museum Mystery Squad. Techie-genius Nabster, mile-a-minute Kennedy, and sharp-eyed Laurie (along with Colin the hamster!) tackle the surprising conundrums happening at the museum. From moving prehistoric creatures and secret Egyptian codes to missing treasure and strange messages from the past, there's no brain-twisting, totally improbable puzzle the Squad can't solve. -------------- There's nothing deader than a mammoth -- not just dead but completely extinct. So how can it be moving at night? In the Case of the Moving Mammoth, the Squad investigate the museum's new star exhibit, on loan from Tyrone O'Saurus, ringmaster of the travelling Dinosaur Circus. There must be a reasonable explanation for a shifting stuffed prefistoric animal. Can they sift through the clues and unravel the puzzle before the museum faces a mammoth-sized problem? --------------- Young readers will love the riddles, red herrings and big reveals jam-packed into this fun-filled series of mystery stories by Mike Nicholson. The enjoyable extras like wacky facts and activities, as well as zany illustrations by Mike Phillips, will keep amateur detectives entertained for hours.

Although I guessed the thief straight away, this book was quite fun! I was suspicious of Tyrone O'Saurus, but when I saw him at the circus, I worked it out straight away. At the start I was actually suspicious of Bea the cleaner, but when Tyrone appeared, that thought went away! I would recommend this to 6-8 year olds, maybe, because it might be too complicated for younger children, but it is easy to read. I did the quiz at the end and I was most like Kennedy! Colin is one of my favourite characters, because he is funny sometimes and also Kennedy, because I am most like her.

It wasn't really my age sort of stuff. I'm a bit to old for it because its a bit short. But it is full of mystery and strange results. So if you are seven you can still read this book but it might be a bit easy. It's definitely very easy for eight and above. The mystery starts when all the animals in the museum start moving and becoming warmer like living animals even though they are just stuffed skins. It's up to the museum mystery squad to find out what and why something keeps moving them. And the culprit is still at large even though they've got a few clues.

I really liked this book as it has lots of pictures and parts of the writing look like notebooks or diary pages which is cool. It’s a very funny story. My favourite character is Laurie as he likes to wear funny clothes and is always in his sleeping bag, but I like all the other characters too.

I found it funny especially because Laurie dressed up in really silly ways, and the way that the mammoth moved every night was really interesting.

Three friends in a museum investigate a mammoth that has been moving, and they realise that its temperature is the same as one of the three friends, but the other animals in the museum have temperatures that are way, way down. There's somebody inside the mammoth - there's a flap on its bottom! It's a bit funny and scary.

Good book, that I would recommend to my friends. The main characters were Nabster, Kennedy and Laurie, and they need to find out why the animal is moving and what is happening....
