A thrilling ghost story that revisits Cornwall’s industrial past. Short-story-telling at its very best, from the UK most beloved writer for children.

I read this book with the class, quite a while back and we couldn't put the book down as it was pulling us in right from the start. I liked Cherry because she was a young girl, with big annoying brothers that we can all relate to. I loved the bit where we found out about her being a ghost because she had drowned and she goes back to her family and tries to get their attention but she's a ghost so no one can see her. Her family thinks she has drowned and is out at sea.

The thing that I like about the book is that it had a very surprising ending, because Cherry was in the storm and she drowned in the sea but she didn't know so she was a ghost and she saw some people who were also ghosts. I would recommend it to my friend Emma.

In my opinion, this book was phenomenal. I was so into the book that I thought I was in it! In the story, my favorite character was Cherry because she was so hilarious and imaginative. I would rate this book a 5/5 if you are aged 7-10- year- olds. Have fun reading!!!:)
