When they visited crocodile island and they weren’t safe, but they didn’t know from who, as people kept dying

I enjoyed reading The Diamond Brothers in I Know What You Did Last Wednesday. The Diamond Brothers Series is all about a detective, Tim Diamond (whose real name is Herbert Simple), and his ‘kid brother’ Nick. In I Know What You Did Last Wednesday, Tim is invited to a class reunion in Scotland on Crocodile Island from Rory McDougal, who was one of Tim’s St Egberts classmates, and Tim receives £1,000 for his journey. Because he can’t leave Nick on his own, Tim is forced to take Nick with him. When they arrived in Scotland, they all got on an old fishing boat called ‘The Silver Medal’; The captain of the boat was a jolly man who had only one leg and one eye, his name was Horatio Randle. To everyone’s horror, once they had got to the old castle they discovered that their old classmate Rory McDougal had been murdered and divided into peices with his own sword! They all had rooms that had been prepared for them but strangely, the phones in all of them had been romoved. The next day, Sylvie Binns was found dead with a sweet rapper on the floor; Nick realised she must have been poisoned and the others agreed that Sylvie had a sweet tooth when they were at school. That night, Nick saw a strange face at the window - a skull with hollow eyes that looked like it was floating mid-air. Janet Rhodes was stabbed while she was sleeping by a model of the Eiffel Tower that night (and there was a small rip on the top of her four-poster bed directly above were the model fell from) and Brenda Blake informed everyone that she had also seen the skull-like face at her window. Everyone started blaming each other but then they realised that the killer could be someone hiding on the island so they all went on a search party across the ilsand to check if there was anyone else there but they didn’t find anyone. After that, the classmates stayed in pairs for safety and they found an old picture of their class... but someone in the picture - Johnny Nadler- hadn’t been envited. They all went in different directions (that was a mistake). To everyone’s utter dismay, Libby Goldman had been killed by a hit to the head - a globe of the world had been dropped from the battlements above. Tim and Nick went on a walk that evening to talk things through and suddenly, the answer came to Nick and so they hurried back insde to tell the others. The three survivors: Eric Draper, Brenda Blake and Mark Tyler were all sitting in the drawing room when Nick and Tim came to tell them what they had discovered. Rory McDougal came first in maths at school and he was ‘divided’; Sylvie Binns came first in chemistry and she was poisoned; Janet Rhodes came first in French and she was stabbed by a model of the Eiffel Tower and Libby Goldman was first in Geography so she was killed by a globe of the world. Everyone then shared what they had come first in at school (Eric - history, Brenda - music, Mark - PE and finally Tim - needlework!). Suddenly the lights when off... There was a thud... There was a gunshot... The door opened... The door closed... The lights turned back on. An organ pipe had been pulled down on top of Brenda Blake (that had been the thud) and an old gun was on the floor next to the dead Eric Draper. Mark was not in the room so Nick assumed that he was the killer. However, when they got outside they found Mark dead with a javelin through his chest. It was just Tim and Nick left. That night, Tim slept with a suit of armour on and in the morning, Tim decided that Nick was the killer (of course, he wasn’t) so Tim stood at the edge of a cliff with pointy rocks far beneath him - The Needles. Then there was a soft explosion where Tim was standing and he started falling. Nick grabbed onto him and then Horatio Randle appeared (the captain of the boat that had brought everyone to the island) and he revealed himself to be Johnny Nadler. Johnny had used remote controls to set off every murder that he had arranged before taking his classmates to the island. He had done it all because he always came second in every subject at school. Tim rolled off of the cliff when Nadler tried to shoot him. Luckily, Eric Draper hit Johnny across the head with a gun to save Nick’s life and he explained that the gunshot had merely wounded him. To Nick’s great releif, Tim had fell into a gorse bush growing on the side of the cliff instead of being smashed into the rocks below and the three of them sailed back to the mainland on the Silver Medal with Johnny Nadler tied up below deck. Johnny Nadler was arrested and Tim and Nick were able to go safely back home. I enjoyed the complex but clever plot in this book and I would definitely recommend this book to someone who likes murder mysteries!

I thought it was good because there was a lots of exitement and plot twists just at the bit that you would think there wouldn't be a plot twist.

I like this book, because it is full of adventure and funny characters. My favourite character is Tim, because when someone says something like "tommyrot" and he thought that Tommy was part of the crime. My reason as to why people should read this book is the same reason as the first sentence.
