Then, after the fireworks display on Bonfire Night, Elizabeth is found – murdered.
Many girls at Deepdean had reason to hate Elizabeth, but who might have committed such foul play? Could the murder be linked to the secrets and scandals, scribbled on scraps of paper, that are suddenly appearing around the school? And with their own friendship falling to pieces, how will the Detective Society solve this mystery?

This book is amazing I loved it because of the plot twist at the end. My favourite character is Hazel Wong because in the first book she was so shy and now she stands up for herself.

I think it was a nice book to read. When Elizabeth Hurst the head girl at Deepdean school for girls dies on bonfire night the girls try to find out if it was a rake that murdered her or if ot was deliberate murder. Worst of all Daisy and Hazel argue because Hazel has been writing secret letters to Alexander. Can the girls figure it out with their friendships falling apart. I am reading Mistletoe and murder at the moment.

It was very mysterious how Elisabeth died, I didn’t know whether it was a rake or a bat. I was shocked that Elisabeth died with her eyes open.

The head girl is murdered! Miss Bernard thinks that she was murdered with a rake, but soon it becomes clear that she was actually murdered with a hockey stick. Filled with lots of red herrings and kept me on the edge of my seat!

It was amazing because it had 2 crimes as well as murder. It was a clever murder like all the other books are. Read it!
Duchess Mildred Mozzarella 01.08.2024
Another mysterious, fantastic, fun book in the murder most unladylike serious. It had the usual twists and turns in it - the murder is surprising. I recommend it to children 9+ who like mysterious and don't mind gore ( vegetarians might not like it).
