The Genius Factor: How to Capture an Invisible Cat
Paul Tobin, Thierry Lafontaine
Every Friday the 13th, 6th-grade genius Nate Bannister does three not-so-smart things to keep life interesting. This time, he taught a caterpillar to read, mailed a love letter, and super-sized his cat Proton before turning him invisible. Now Proton is on the loose, and Nate and his new friend Delphine must reverse the experiment before the cat crushes everything and everybody in town.
As if that’s not enough, the Red Death Tea Society, known for its criminal activity, killer tactics, and tea-brewing skills, is plotting against Nate and Delphine. The dynamic duo must use their creativity, courage and friendship to save the day.
Paul Tobin blends wacky humour and chaotic high jinks in this rip-roaring, action-packed middle-grade debut;perfect for fans of David Walliams and Tom Gates.
Reviews
Very funny. I wonder what was in peanut butter that saved the city of Polt.

The first book of the adventures of Delphine and Nate. I like the gripping and funny parts of the story (of which there are many) and how they never seem to get out trouble. My favourite person was Nate because he does so many weird things

It was good but a bit lacking in climax. There wasn't really the big battle at the end that you would expect. But it was very funny!!! :) My favourite character is Nate because he has a lot of surprises. I would recommend it to people who enjoy funny books.

How To Capture An Invisible Cat is funny, quirky and original, and sure to capture the hearts and minds of many a young reader! My favourite characters were Nate, because he's really smart, and Delphine, because she's so funny. If you read this book, it will give you giggles every time you think about it for a long time!

This is the first book in the Genius Factor series. It's really fun and packed with adventure. I read the second (and last, I think) book, How to Outsmart a Million Robot Bees, first, but I would recommend starting with this one. Read this if you're 8-12 yrars old.

This book is lots of things: sci-fi, comedy and adventure. It's about a giant cat, a murderous tea society and the cleverest boy in the World. The cat, called Proton, was my favourite character because he is invisible. I would recommend this strange book to anyone aged 7-9 years. It was very entertaining.
