I didn't like the fact that there was a lot of hitting and punishing the school children. I thought that it was really interesting to learn that cholera victims turned blue before they died. I would recommend this book to anyone studying history.

I would recommend it, but only if you like factual books as otherwise could be a bit boring. I liked the vile Victorian schools chapter as it told me about what would happen if children were naughty.

The Horrible histories book (Vile Victorians) is a funny, disgusting, catchy, non-fiction book with fun facts about the Victorian era. My 2 favorite part of the book was when it spoke about how children were treated in school and when it spoke about a soldier who died from 1900 lashes. It tells you a lot about the Victorian era so I would definitely recommend this book to someone else who is into history.

I thought it was funny because there were funny sayings and stories in it . I especially enjoyed it when I read that snakes on stair handles smacked lady guests on their bottom!

Very cleverly written and gives a good understanding about the Victorians and gives a good joke and is easy to read. It was factual and informative and the cover looks great to history lovers like me. I would recommend it can help you understand a academic subject.
