Isla Palmer is CRAZY about cats – SUPER-IN-LOVE crazy – but her vet-nurse mum has never let her have one. Then Isla meets Poppy, a gorgeous cat in need of a loving home, and comes up with the perfect way to convince Mum.

It’s not long before Poppy has transformed life at the Palmers’ – everyone is happier, especially Gran, and even Isla’s older sister Tilda admits she likes having Poppy around. But Poppy isn’t the only one in need of a home and soon their
house is full of cats. With Mum at her wits’ end, Isla needs to come up with a plan and fast!

It’s a good book for anyone who wants a cat but can’t have one. It’s a fiction book. I would recommend it to every person in the world!

I chose this book because it is about cats and I love cats! I think this book is great because it is such a lovely story. There was a little girl called Isla who loved cats and has never been allowed to have one because her mum thinks that having a cat would be too much of a responsibility. This is until mum took Isla to work with her at the vets. Soon enough they went home with an abandoned cat called Poppy. But soon after getting Poppy, Isla went to work again with mum, only to find a man dumping a kitten called Roo, who they also decided to foster. Then Isla's older sister Tilda made a website about Poppy and Roo and accidentally put their address on it. Only about a week later they had knock at their front door where a cat called Benny had been abandoned in a soaking wet cardboard box with only a sodden blanket for warmth. Isla's Grandma adopted Poppy to help her feel better as her husband had died. Funnily, the family soon came to realise that Benny wasn't actually a male cat, as she gave birth to kittens in the middle of the night! Isla's mum was trying to get people to come and adopt Roo, Benny and the kittens as soon as they were old enough but Isla wasn't going to let that happen. So Isla made her own cat cafe in their lounge and invited all of her friends and neighbours to come. I would recommend this book if you are an animal or cat lover and like stories about family life and supporting each other.
