They were coming tonight to tell ghost stories. ‘A tale to freeze the blood,’ was the only rule.

Switzerland, 1816. On a stormy summer night, Lord Byron and his guests are gathered round the fire. Felix, their serving boy, can’t wait to hear their creepy tales. Yet real life is about to take a chilling turn- more chilling than any tale. Frantic pounding at the front door reveals a stranger, a girl covered in the most unusual scars. She claims to be looking for her sister, supposedly snatched from England by a woman called Mary Shelley. Someone else has followed her here too, she says. And the girl is terrified…

I would recommend this book to a person who likes science or wants a thriller to read. A little summary of this book would be that a girl and her mother were shot with lightning and survived. Out of nowhere a random stranger has come to her village and seems to have a big interest in the girl.

This was a clearly fictional book as it was related to frankenstein my most favourite character was peg for her adoration for animals. I couldn't find a moral in this book but something that it taught me was never place you trust in a stranger especially if you you haven't seen him or her before and only do so after clarifying with your parents or carers. I would totally recommend this book for people who love and hate science at the same time.

I really like this book as my friend maryam recommended it to me a lot happened in the middle and it didn't drag out at the end. There was a big cliffhanger at the end of every chapter which made me want to keep reading on.

This story is a story of ambition. It's about a girl named Lizzie who has a sister named Peg, life gets tougher and tougher for Lizzie as lightning strikes, animals are hurt and electricity is fiddled with. Lizzie sets out on a long journey to find her sister after a tragic fire. This book was one of my all time favorites and I would recommend it to anyone over 7. 'It's a tale to freeze the blood.'

An astounding book, it will keep you gripped intil the end.It links in with Frankenstein in unexpected ways - making it seem more real. It chilled my spine like all good thrillers. A lovely ending you can't see coming.
