This was an amazing book. It's all a boy called John who moves houses a lot. Then him and his mum move to New York but John's Dad can't come. John meets someone called Shelby who happens to be a detective. Shelby takes him into town to show him around. But then she sees graffiti on a wall with a police car parked next to it and goes to discover. The next morning John goes with Shelby to walk the dog(sir Arthur) just as they are about to enter the building a girl comes up to Shelby and sais that her dog has been stolen and they need to find it as it was three days before a dog show but will they find it in time? Or will they work to slow? Know body knows....

I would definitely recommend this book for anyone that enjoys mystery, adventure and friendship. Shelby Holmes - Girl detective is very exciting to read and the illustrations are brilliant as well!
