Series:
Everything is topsy-turvy in Goblin world and Matty, the Goblin Princess, just doesn’t fit in! Her mum, the Goblin Queen, is always telling her to un-tidy her room and eat up her slug porridge (yee-uk!). Most of all goblins HATE nice things, including their enemies the sparkly Forest Fairies.
book 1:
Matty has a problem. Her new pet baby dragon, Smoky, is far too good and her parents, the Goblin King and Queen, are threatening to send him away! But Smoky is her best friend – can she find a way to make him naughty enough to keep? She just might need the Forest Fairies’ help…

I like how the Goblin princess Matty was different from other Goblin. She like her room to be very tidy. She was looking for the castle dragon Sparks. She found her and an egg she laid. A baby dragon hetched from the egg. She asked the king if she can keep him as a pet. The King asked the dragon untrainer to test the baby. The next day morning, they tested the baby dragon. He failed all the tests. Matty named the baby dragon Smoky. Then Smoky burnt the toast. Sadlly Smoky got captured. The fairys helped Smoky escaped. The king allowed Matty to have Smoky as a pet.

I don't like the fact that she is a goblin described as " sweet little princess ", but I do like the fact she is not a nasty princess like a real goblin.

The goblin princess is different to all the other goblins because she's tidy when you're supposed to be messy.

I loved this book because it wasn't just an ordinary tale of a posh princess. She doesn't want to fit in with everyone else, she is her own person. She is different to other goblins and can see fairies. My favourite part was when Smoky the dragon baby was born. He was so cute and it made me happy when I saw the picture of him and read about him hatching in the wardrobe. I would recommend this book to anyone who like crazy things happening in books!! Also I recommend it to anyone aged 5+ but it does have some pretty tricky words in it - they will find it challenging and amusing.
