Karyn Gorman
Race Ahead with Reading are fantastic colour chapter books.
When Tuck Mclane spots Noodle the monster trying to scare him, he laughts instead of screams. He is not scared at all – then he has an amazing idea! What about helping Monsters find jobs instead of scaring people? And so the Monster Agency is formed…
Race Ahead with Reading is the perfect series to introduce children to longer books, help them gain a sense of achievement at completing each bite-size chapter and really take the driving seat with their reading! A brilliant way to boost confidence of 6-8 year old readers.
Reviews
I liked all the monsters, and I did think they would scare him by the end. I think Mr Spook was very freaky, said Mum! But I didn't think he was scary, because his bones weren't correct which I learnt about in science.

If monsters are happy with their job, you should never force them to do a different job.

Very intriguing. My favourite character was Big Foot. It was almost concluded that he was not good at anything but Tuck and Noodle did not give up on him. They found the perfect job for Big Foot at last.

This is the story Tuck, who wasnt scared of anything. He created a monster agency to help the monsters find something else to do other than being scary. He helped Big Foot find a job as a grape stomper. Mr Spook the creator evil wasnt happy and tried to stop them but Tuck showed him tha he didnt have to be scary too. I thought all the monsters were awesome and I really enjoyed reading it.
