From the author of Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Judy Blume’s classic It’s Not the End of the World is a sensitive, honest story of family separation.

Karen’s parents have always argued, and lately they’ve been getting worse. But when her father announces that they’re going to get divorced, it seems as if Karen’s whole world will fall apart.

Her brother, Jeff, blames their mum. Her kid sister, Amy, asks impossible questions and is scared that everyone she loves is going to leave. Karen just wants her parents to get back together.

Gradually, she learns that this isn’t going to happen – and realizes that divorce is not the end of the world.""

I enjoyed this book because Karen finds it hard when her parents get divorced but learns to deal with things and ends up feeling better and happy. My favourite character was Karen’s little sister Amy. I would recommend this book to children from 8 plus.

My favourite part was the ending, when everyone was happy. This book is about Karen’s parents getting divorced and how she feels etc about it. My favourite character is Amy. I would recommend to children age 8 and above

I kind of liked it; it’s all about two parents arguing and it makes me feel really bad for her. It’s all about being divorced. I would recommend it to people age 10+.

I liked it a lot because it describes a real life situation with parents getting divorced and children dealing with that. It also shows Karen learning about divorce as you progress through the book. She tries to put her parents back together but soon realises this cannot happen.
