This was a really interesting book. It was not about real life pirates but it was about the skills you need to be a real life pirate like cannon firing, shooting stuff and talking like a pirate. I thought the characters were very exciting and funny especially 'Gums' the cook and I thought it was very imaginative to come up with the dishes that he made.

I liked Joe the most, Joe was a curious person who went on a fun adventure to find treasure.

I liked that Milton, Jo and Tom found the treasure. I would recommend it to someone else if they like pirates then I know they would love it

I would definitely get this book again because it is very funny and the orange that was used for the pictures is amazing. I would recommend it to pirate-lovers and you will find out that every pirate has a name with 'beard' in it.
