A Piglet Called Truffle
Helen Peters, Ellie Snowdon
The first in a fantastic series of animal stories for younger readers by Waterstones Children's Book Prize-shortlisted author Helen Peters, with beautiful black-and-white illustrations by Ellie Snowdon. Jasmine's dad is a farmer, and her mum is a large-animal vet, so Jasmine spends a lot of time caring for animals and keeping them out of trouble. Unfortunately, this often means she gets into hot water herself... When Jasmine sees a tiny, unloved piglet left to fend for itself, she knows it will die without her help. So she smuggles it home to her farm to nurse it back to health. But she can't keep Truffle forever, and then, one stormy night, disaster strikes... Brilliant storytelling that will make you laugh and cry, this is Dick King-Smith for a new generation. Perfect for readers aged seven and up. Check out Jasmine's other adventures: A Duckling Called Button, A Sheepdog Called Sky, A Kitten Called Holly and many more!

The cutest bit was when Truffle laid down with the cats in their basket. Jasmine nursed truffle back to health and her Christmas present was to keep truffle!

I thought that the piglet was very very cute and the girl was very kind. It was really funny when the two boys made mud crumble! I think everybody should read this book!

In this story I liked Jasmine the best because she helped animals and she didn’t let the pig called Truffle die. The farmer in the story wanted Truffle to die as he had too many pigs. I would recommend this book to people who love animals.

I really liked this book. I liked the part when Jasmine got Mr Carter not to kill Truffle. It was a little sad when Blossom died which is why i have given it 4 stars, otherwise it would have been 5. I would recommend this book.

This was a really cute book with a piglet which Jasmine had to take from a local farmer’s farm as it was really weak and small !

I think this book was OK but not very interesting. I like how this time Jasmine and Tom stole the animal rather than finding it in a field or woods, and I also like it when Jasmine loses Tom's guinea pigs, Snowy and Twiglet in the woods, and then gets Truffle to find them, and when Snowy and Twiglet are found, they're in a rabbit hole! I would recommend this book to everybody.

I have read the whole book and really enjoyed the story. Jasmine was my favourite character and I loved the way she took care of Truffle and looked after her. I would definitely recommend this to someone else, especially if they like animals
