I’m Dan Hope and deep inside my head I keep a list of things I want to come true.

For example, I want my sister, Ninja Grace, to go to university at the North Pole and only come back once a year.

I want to help Sherlock Holmes solve his most daring mystery yet. And if it could be a zombie mystery, all the more exciting.

I want my dog to stop eating the planets and throwing them up on the carpet.

And finally, the biggest dream of all, I want my dad to love me.

Daniel Hope has many dreams and goals in his life, but one he especially wants to come true is his dad to love him. This is a story is about a boy called Hope who faces many challenges in life. He's been a bit lonely and sad since his dad left him, his sister and mum four years ago, when he was just seven and his sister was twelve. One day, Daniel finds that his dad has become a TV star and tries desperately to visit him at the TV studio. Can he do it? What will happen along the way.

This book is full of emotions happiness and sadness. He’s waiting for his dad to return home but he doesn’t. He realises at the end of the book that he should be grateful for everything that he has already.

I really liked it even though at the start it seemed like he had no hope. He went through a lot of challenges like his Dad dying. It all seemed to be for a reason as he got a step dad, a new best friend(also his stepbrother) and two baby twin sisters.

The ending was a surprise. It was fiction and my favourite character was Dan. I would recommend for Year 6s.

In all honesty it took me a while to get fully stuck into this book but when I got to what I call the juicy part of the story I could not put it down!!!(This is a fiction book)My favourite character was Daniel Hope because he showed hope ,resilience and never gave up.I would recommend this book to anyone because it is a mix of different genres e.g funny ,mysterious and emotional. Overall I really enjoyed this book!

I liked Dan the best. It was interesting because of his Dad, he was a TV presenter. I would recommend the book to someone else.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, because of it’s plot line. I think it is ingenious to add the bit where hopes dad dies who he has been looking for the whole book die I actually caught my breath. I think it is a good read and well worth A try.
