London 1666 – A terrible plague has swept through the city and people live in fear of animals carrying the disease.

Woofer is a loveable stray who works in the palace kitchen and Tiger Lily is the pampered pet spaniel of King Charles II. They come from very different worlds but this hasn’t stopped them becoming the best of friends and looking out for each other. When Woofer finds himself in trouble he has to escape the palace grounds and Tiger Lily isn’t far behind him.

It’s not long before a new danger emerges – a great fire is sweeping across London destroying everything in its path. Can these two brave dogs survive the blazing fire and make their way to safety?

I loved the fire dogs and how such different puppies made the best of friends. I Enjoyed reading about how the dogs were lost in the fire getting bashed between panicking people. I thought it was brilliant how Woofer first woke up smelling fire and alerted the bakery, saving many people in the process. I found it terrible when the dogs got split up and wondered if they'd ever find each other, home and the people they loved...

I really liked it! It was fiction, but it was based on fact (the Great Fire of London in 1666). I liked that it was the dogs story. I would definitely recommend it.

I liked George because he works at a palace and looks after four puppy's. George was fired from just stroking one of his puppy's that was killed by the wheel , that the dog was put in to cook meat.

I really enjoyed this book. It is about the great fire of London and how 2 dogs survive. My favourite charter was Tiger Lily, a King Charles spaniel, because she is adventurous. I like these books because you also learn about historical events, but in a fun way.

The great fire dogs by Megan Rix is a great book because it is based on the Great fire of London in 1666, which means it has historical aspects to it, and two of the main characters are adorable dogs called Woofer and Tiger Lily. It is a fictional book and my favourite characters were Tiger Lily, Woofer and George, a kitchen boy who saves Woofer and I really recommend this book. Review by, Mademoiselle Cynthia Unicycle Xx
