Dolphin Island: Lost at Sea: Book 2
Jenny Oldfield
A family marooned on an island finds loveable dolphins to help them survive: classic adventure from million-copy-selling Jenny Oldfield.
Shipwrecked near a tiny island in a vast ocean, the Fisher family are guided to safety by a small pod of dolphins. Fleur, Alfie, Mia and their parents must learn to build shelter, find fresh water and hunt for food.
Each of the children forms a special bond with one of the family of dolphins. Fleur adores the fun-loving, tail-walking Jazz. Mia names her dark-grey dolphin friend Stormy. And Alfie is saved from the shipwreck by Pearl, who always looks out for him.
But the children’s father is ill! While Fleur and Mia explore the dark forest and search the beaches for precious equipment from the shipwreck, Alfie has his own plans … and perhaps only Pearl can save him from himself …
Jenny Oldfield strikes gold in this beautifully illustrated, exciting adventure story, the second in the Dolphin Island series.

This is a fiction book. My favourite character was Fleur because she is a kind brave sister to Alfie and Mia even at the hardest of times! I also liked all the dolphins, especially Pearl, Jazz and Stormy. I would definitely recommend this to somebody who likes adventure stories and wants a not too hard read!

I think dolphin island is a great book full of adventures and suspense. It was fiction but some of it was based on real life experiences. My favourite character was Alfie because he was the one that got into trouble the most. I would definitely recommend it to all 10 to 11 years.

If you like short books with a lot of repotition ,then this is for you . But if you like long books which do not repeat and are full of action ,then it is not a book you would like.

I loved this book because it’s full of adventure. A family of children get shipwrecked and they live on an island. Alfie the oldest child makes a watch fire and spots an island far in the distance. He makes a sail from a bit of tarpaulin that washes up in a storm and attaches it to the raft that the family create together. He launches the boat. The children Alfie, Fleur and Mia make friends with 3 dolphins Pearl, Stormy and Jazz. Pearl his favourite follows him whilst Fleur on her favourite Jazz is trying to find her brother. Since the shipwreck Alfie has been scared of water Jazz, Pearl and Fleaur help him to overcome his fear. I would recommend it to people who like adventure books.
