This is a fiction book about a young boy named Conor O'Malley. In this book Conor goes through hardship to accept the fact that his mother is about to die because of cancer. Through this journey 'the monster', an old yew tree, tells Conor three tales and leaves the fourth tale to be told by Conor himself. At the same time Conor is living with his grandma, who he doesn't like. At school he is getting bullied and he also loses his best freind. But the thing that bothers him the most from all of this is 'the nightmare'....the worst thing he could ever think of. And when it comes near the end he realises the fourth tale is the nightmare, this was when things got more difficult. I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys adventure books and books with suspense.
