Alfie Wolfe’s twin sister, Alfreeda, is an annoying pain in Alfie’s side, and he just can’t stand it any more! Enter Crosby, a very cool, laid-back German shepherd (with his own pesky puppy in tow) who checks into the Hound Hotel and teaches Alfie a lesson in patience.

I loved the story. There is a dog called Crosby and he is a German Shepard. He kept his cool when Bruno the puppy did nasty things to Crosby like biting his tail or chewing on his ear. When Crosby wriggled Bruno off, Bruno barked and did it again! Crosby growled a little but then stopped when Bruno swatted and scrapped at his tummy. Mum came in and said that Crosby could do with some exercise and a run around. Alfreeda was disappointed as she wanted to make a little red riding hood show but got to work making a fire ring out of cardboard and Crosby jumped through it while Bruno lay in his pen. The best bit was Crosby jumping through the fire ring. I liked Crosby the best but didn’t really like Bruno as he was annoying.

I think this book is really good for animal lovers ages 6-9 because it is quite an easy book to read but is still enjoyable
