A brilliant series for 7+ readers full of adventure, magic and friendship from Paula Harrison, author of the Rescue Princesses and Kitty and the Moonlight Rescue series.
Poppy sells candles in the streets of beautiful Penlee, and she has a wonderful secret; she knows there is a magical scarlet fox family living in the town park. When Sir Fitzroy and his brutish soldiers march into town and demand that all magical creatures be captured and taken away, Poppy must help the foxes escape. But the youngest fox is too small to run with his family, and he hasn’t yet mastered his powers! Can Poppy hide him from the soldiers and help him find his family before Sir Fitzroy can carry out his terrible plan?
Beautifully illustrated throughout by Sophy Williams, this is the perfect book for young readers who love magic and animals!

I loved this book. I like it because the adventure was in a village tis time and because she makes friends with someone she didn't like before. I won't tell anymore so I don't spoil it.

I didn't like the silly machine. I was happy when Poppy threw the machine into the water and am happy when they all ran away.

A girl saves a magic foxes family called scarlet foxes. I liked that the foxes could change their colour to match their surroundings so they didn't get caught. Also, they had three tails. Animal lovers would like this book - it is very exciting.

good

I think Sir Fitzroy is incredibly horrible and his guards because he tried to capture all the helpless little magic animals. Also Little Paw is amazingly daring (he’s a little baby and his parents forget him.)

I thought that this book was awesome. I think that Natasha was actually friendly and was trying to hide her shyness by being bossy. She was almost as eager as Poppy to help the magic foxes. I feel sorry for Natasha ,though, because I think she felt left out and sad when Poppy showed Natasha her speaking stone. Natasha didn't have one and I think she might have been a little upsert. My favourite charcters are Poppy and Natasha because they were just so eager and keen to help the little magic foxes. Sir Friztoy is horrid to hate the magical animals so much. I reccomend this book to eveeyone as it is awesome and amazing.

Poppy sells candles and is friends with magical foxes. Some girls flying on a dragon give her speaking stones so she can understand what the animals are saying. Poppy warns the animals against Sir Fitzroy wants to capture the animals. He captures them anyway and it’s up to Poppy to free them. I like the main character Poppy because she was brave and clever. I enjoyed reading the book and I’d recommend it to other girls aged 6 and over.
