My favourite character is Maryam because she is cheeky and funny even though she's been through a lot like being bullied because of her religion. I also like Finlay because even though he has a stutter and has trouble speaking he Carries on through with a positive attitude even though his family is broken up.

I really like this book because it is all about how a boy is determined to find his mum who left when he was young. the person I like best in the book, a seven letter word is the person Finlay met online because she helped him find his mum even though her dad was the one who made her leave. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading because it is a ver well written book!

It's a sad story about a boy called Finlay and his mothers left home and he doesn't know why. He has a really bad stammer which got worse when his mum left home. He lives with his dad who is a joiner and plumber. He loves scrabble and has been in proving his volcabury with scrabble. He is bullied by lots of people who make fun of his stammer. He makes a friend through scrabble club at school in the library and she's called Maryam. She is an ex packatsan scrabble champion who moved to the uk ages ago. She is bullied by a boy named Oliver who makes fun of her headscarf and says she stinks of disgusting curry. Her grandmother gets ruder as she approaches her a hundredth birthday. I would recommend this book to 10 and over children as it has some rude words in it that younger children don't need to know now.

This book is gripping and tells you about what life is like for a 14 year-old boy with a stammer. He brings you into his life as he goes in search of his my who left 2 years ago. Two of the only ways he can find his mum is by playing scrabble and speaking to a mysterious person online.
