It was a fantastic book that I would recommend everyone to read it. While the story goes on , it infers that sometimes you’ve got to use your imagination than being so factual. Jackson and his family may become homeless, but his old imaginary friend Crenshaw comes out to support him.

I absolutely loved this book! It was truly heart-warming, and it makes you think of how lucky we are. This book is about a young boy and his family struggling to keep a roof over their heads and food in their cupboards, and how he's trying to push his imaginary friend, Crenshaw, away when he needs Crenshaw the most. This book was described so vividly, that I could almost imagine the characters in front of me, and the emotions the boy was feeling were so powerful, that I could nearly feel them myself. Katherine Applegate's writing was so smooth and easy-to-read, that I truly couldn't put this book down. I loved all the characters in this book, but I would personally recommend to 8+, as younger age groups might not understand the book as much, and might just see it as a giant cat and a young boy's friendship. I will be looking for more books by Katherine Applegate in the future.

This book was great. My favourite character was Whoops because he was messy and did all sorts of weird things. He was creative about everything. It was an intriguing story, written with the boy's opinion of things.

Very enjoyable. Would recommend it to anyone of the ages 9-13 or 14. My favourite character is definitely the cart-wheeling cat, Crenshaw.

This is a story about a boy who's parents don't have much money and Crenshaw a cat who is imaginary comes to help. I recommend it to anyone who likes imaginary friends

What can I say? I have taken out this book from my local library twice now, and each time I have read it I have found it humorous, heartfelt, poignant and perfect. Summary 10 year old Jackson is old beyond his age. Which has it's disadvantages. He worries. A lot. About his little sister. About his mother and father. About how there might not be enough money to pay the bills and his family could end up homeless like last time... Then Crenshaw, giant talking cat and his old imaginary friend, appears in his life. But why now? Will an imaginary friend be enough to help him solve his problems?
