When they first arrived, they came quietly and stealthily as if they tip-toed into the world when we were all looking the other way.

Ade loves living at the top of a tower block. From his window, he feels like he can see the whole world stretching out beneath him. His mum doesn’t really like looking outside – but it’s going outside that she hates. She prefers to sleep all day inside their tower, where it’s safe. Except it isn’t any more. Strange plants have started to take over and tower blocks are falling down around them.

Now Ade and his mum are trapped and there’s no way out . . .

I loved this book as it was a good read, full of mystery and tension. It kept you guessing until the end. Polly Ho- Yen is a really good author. That is why I have got 2 more of her books that I want to read.

I like this book because it was emotional at times and it really pulled on my heartstrings. I only gave it 3 stars because some of the book bored me a little and sometimes it became hard to understand what was going on. Maybe if I read this when I’m older, I will get my head around these parts...? I might recommend this book to people who are 11+ or possibly 10+.

VERY tense. this book really pullled me into little ade's head. it was one of those books where you make a big groan when your mum or dad asks you to put it down and go to bed. however, I felt it neede more action!!!!!
