The 10th anniversary and modern classic edition of the bestselling and award-winning, You’re a Bad Man, Mr Gum

`It’s time for action,’ said Mr Gum to nobody in particular. `Nasty action.’

Good evening. Mr Gum is a complete horror who hates children, animals, fun and corn on the cob. This book’s all about him. And an angry fairy who lives in his bathtub. And Jake the dog, and a little girl called Polly. And there’s heroes and sweets and adventures and EVERYTHING.

You’re a Bad Man, Mr Gum! is the first book in the internationally best-selling series by Andy Stanton, which has won everything from the Blue Peter Book Award (twice) to the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Red House Children’s Book Award. This edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of its first publication.

I thought it was amazing,it was fiction.I liked Polly best.It was factual,it interested me by this yong girl that is named Polly and the dog jack was about to be poisoned by Mr Gum, and he was saved by Polly.I'll recommend it to someone else because it will lead you to be brave and never give up.

Mr Gum is a horrible old man with a horrible house but a suspiciously tidy garden. One day, Jake the dog comes into Mr Gum's garden and trashes it. He does it again, day after day after day after day after day, except on Wednesdays, because everyone knows that dogs have the day off on Wednesdays. The reason Mr Gum keeps his garden so tidy is because a fairy comes out of his bathtub and hits him with a frying pan if it isn't. Mr Gum gets so many bruises that he decides he has to take action. He must poison Jake!
