A funny and heartfelt story - perfect for ages 8+! 'This funny, charismatic heroine will capture her readers' hearts' KIRKUS, STARRED REVIEW Dara is a born actress, or so she thinks – but when she doesn’t get any part in the school play, she begins to think it’s because she doesn’t look like the other girls in her class. She was adopted as a baby from Cambodia. So irrepressible Dara comes up with a plan, and is determined to change not just the school, but the whole world too. A stunning reissue of a beautifully written, warm and funny tale for girls from the acclaimed author of Dream on, Amber. Explores themes of adoption, determination and standing up to prejudice.

Who is a born actress? Dara Palmer. Well, that's what she thinks, anyway. Cambodian isn't anything to do with it,is it? When Dara auditions for school play The Sound of Music, she is determined (and sure) that she will get lead part of Maria. But then it turns out that Dara doesn't get a good part,at all. WHATEVER will she will do? Read this book to find out! A funny, adventurous book by Emma Shevah.

I love this book, especially the main character, Dara Palmer. The book is about an adopted girl named Dara who thinks she was born a star...

Dara is a Cambodian girl who's ambition is to become a famous actress. She was adopted as a little girl by parents who have adopted many other children. Towards the end of the book, Dara is a character with high aims and determination.

If you like a bit of dramatic sort of books you should get this book. She's having a hard time trying to get better at drama and her best friend Lacey thinks she doesn't need to go. She was adopted from an orphanage but were. To find out we're she was adopted and we're here friend went on holiday. This book is great.

She is really a drama queen. This is a down to earth, real fiction book that kids like me would understand a lot because of the contents. This is why i gave it a 5/5. Its also pretty funny.

I loved this book! Read inside to find out how an adopted child from Cambodia lives her life with her new family in England. She wonders why she never gets a lead role in all of her school productions, is it because she`s different to everyone else in her school or because her teacher doesn't like her...

I really enjoyed this book it was funny and interesting. Dara was adopted by an English Family and starts to investigate about this. Her school teacher never lets her in the play and she thinks about assonating her. I think that Girls around 11 will like this book the most.

Dara palmers major drama is a book that I have especially loved and is very much enjoyable. As I first read the book I wanted the book to never end and the book being written in novel form allowed to feel and be the character which was Dara. Dara in the story is a girl from Cambodia who was adopted by a English famil when she was a baby. The major drama is about the school play, her discovering her parents and her taking the road of acting. This book was extremely funny and I would recommend it to many others.

Dara loves acting and there is an end of year show and she wants to be the main part but she didn't get a part and then she was in the canteen and she got noodles in her hair because a boy put them there. I find the book very interesting especially because she draws lots of little pictures on the sides but also because the book is very over the top but in a good way. My favourite character is Lacy, Dara's best friend. She is very crazy and out-going; just like Dara but even more! I would recommend it to anyone who loves acting/singing/drama or loves books with a lot of drama in. I would recommend this book to an 8-10 year old since it is an easy read and it would be fun for someone who likes acting. In one word: dramaholic!
