Becket Rumsey is all at sea. His dad has run away with him and his brother Billy in the middle of the night. And they've left everything behind, including their almost-mum Pearl. Becket has no idea what's going on - it's a mystery. So with the help of Billy and a snail called Brian, Becket sets out on a journey of discovery. It's not plain sailing, but then what journeys ever are? A story of new beginnings, and learning that goodbye isn't always the end, from the bestselling author of A Boy Called Hope.

This is a fictional book about a boy who looses his mum when he’s young and his Dad finds a new girlfriend who they have to run away from. This is a very good book and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

My favourite part of the book is when Billy has a scary dream so him & his brother Becket sit in their mothers old armchair & Becket tells Billy a story about two boys sailing the ocean in an armchair and they meet their mother who passed away when Becket was 2 years old. My favourite person was Becket because he loves to read just like me. It would recommend this book to all ages.

This book is about a boy ( Billy ) and his brother and his friends ( Becket, Nevadah and Knuckles ). One day, they went to school and Billy goes missing. So, then Becket and his friends go searching for him. Then, they found Billy in an unknown puddle that when you step into it you fall into an unknown island. Next, Cat, their next door neighbour, came and took them home. Billy and Becket's dad came back from the police station and explained everything that happened with him and Pearl - his girlfriend after their mum had died-. I would recommend this book to people who like the book by Lara Williamson because this kind of makes sure that you know what's going on and who's who. I liked either Billy or Becket the most because Billy was quite funny when he said that he was a spy, he also had a snail that he kept under his bed. I also like Becket because he is the one writing the story. My least favourite character is probably Pearl because she attacked dad and said that it was the other way round.

My favourite character was Becket because of how he listen very closely to people and how he loved learning about the paper cranes. I also enjoyed it when he was doing the goodbye list and when he jumped in the water to save Billy. I would recommend it to people who like adventure books and stories with siblings in.
