Two hilarious stories in one volume:The French Confection and The Greek Who Stole Christmas. Meet the Diamond Brothers, the world's worst private-detective agency, in this Chandler-esque spoof from the creator of the bestselling Alex Rider series. Life as the younger brother of the world's most defective detective can be tough – and these two adventures will test Nick to the full. What connects them? Murder! And if the Diamond Brothers don't play their cards right, they could be next…

I enjoyed reading The Diamond Brothers in The French Confection. The Diamond Brothers Series is all about a detective, Tim Diamond (whose real name is Herbet), and his ‘kid brother’ Nick. In The French Confection, Tim and Nick win a holiday to France and on the train they meet Erica Nice and Jed Mathis. Afterwards, the train steward tells them “BEWARE OF THE MAD AMERICAN” and gives them a packet of sugar; this confuses Tim and Nick and they later find out that the train steward ‘fell’ under a train. When they get to the hotel - Le Chat Gris - their room is ransacked and they are attacked, kidnapped and drugged by two men. With the help of the French Police, they catch the two men that were working for a drug company and their boss. Madame Erica Nice = Mad American. I enjoyed the complicated plot and I would recommend it to someone else.

I quite liked it, because it kept you guessing. Tim Diamond was slightly stupid, but Nick was really clever. I would recommend it to 8-10 year olds.

The diamond brothers is an amazing fictional series I like this one especially because it’s got great descriptions and is suitable for 10 years or older. This book has also got some brilliant characters too, my favourite is probably Erica Nice. Erica nice is an old lady who happens to be sitting next to the diamond brothers. She owns a tea shop in Paris called Erica Nice. I would recommend this book to anyone who is into books that give you an adrenaline rush. It has got an element of thriller yet it’s the type of book I would sit and read in the garden.

The French Confection is about two brothers called Tim and Nick Diamond who win a holiday to Paris. Things turn out differently than they thought they would once they arrive when they are chased by two French terrorists. I really enjoyed reading this book and it had me on the edge of my seat but I felt the story was a bit too rushed. Everything was happening and then it was all over.
