I like the main character, the no.1 car spotter, because he doesn't like school but he likes spotting cars. Yes I would recommend it as it is all about cars and I like cars.

This book is about a boy who is great at spotting cars with his grandad. All of the grandad's sons and grandsons went to school but got lost in the town and never came back. So when the No.1 car spotter has to go to school, the grandfather's heart is filled with sorrow and the No.1 car spotter has to break the sorrow. He does this by being the cleverest person in the class. This book is a great fictional story and I highly recommend it for children aged 5 - 7. The person I liked best was the No. 1 car spotter, because he always thinks of solutions. When his mother's goats were being eaten by a leopard, he thought of a way of stopping the leopard eating the goats.

It was a happy story because the number one car spotter learned how to be the number one car spotter from his grandpa.

I think that other children would like to read this book if they like cars and would like an insight into life in an African village. Take No.1's test to see if you're old enough to go to school - I think it works!
