This book is the best book ever. It is about a poor girl whose mother brought her to the Foundling Hospital (like an orphanage) because she was too poor to look after her. Hetty spent five years in the country and fell in love with her brother Jem. When she is between the ages five and six Hetty is returned to the Foundling Hospital. She has to do horrible chores and suffer the lectures and punishments from two horrid Matrons. Once, she is even kept in an attic for twenty four hours with no supplies! Eventually, she finds out who her mother is, while she is still in the hospital. Read it to find out more…

I have been wanting to read this book for very long, and when I finally saw this in the library, I thought I had grown too old for this book. But instantly, from the first page, I was captivated by little orphan Hetty's story. I am ever so excited to read the next part, for this was an amazing read! Although it was not the best book I have read, I would still recommend it.

The book was two friends called Hetty Feather and Polly Renfrew. They both went to an orphanage when they were very young because their moms couldn't take care of them. When a lady took them their they had to separate because they were different genders. They lived their till they were grown-ups so they decided to get out, but they got caught. So they couldn't get out. Hetty's friend also broke his arm. She was really devastated, but got to be a cheerful girl and this story told us even if you have difficulties try to get away with it.

This book is one of my favourite Jacqueline Wilson books and i would highly recommend it to anyone who loves history. Hetty feather is about a foundling girls called Hetty who was abandoned at birth and was fostered by a sweet family but now she has to return back to the foundling hospital. Hetty runs away when the foundlings are invited to Queen Victoria jubilee and becomes homeless that leads her to return to the hospital. Hetty is always on the look to find her mother.

I like this book because it shows how difficult life can be to someone with no one to support them at all. I would recommend this book to 6+ people because the words may be a bit challenging.
