‘I wish I had a dog . . . It could be a big dog or a little one. It could be any colour or breed. Just most of all I’d like a hearing dog.’

Eleven-year-old Jake is dreading his new school. No one understands how hard it is for him to make friends.

But then Jake meets Echo. Echo is a stray puppy, training to be a hearing dog. With Echo by his side, Jake’s confidence grows.

But then something terrible happens and Jake and Echo are separated. Determined to find his way back to Jake, Echo sets out on the difficult journey home.

With a long road ahead and danger all around, have Jake and Echo lost each other forever??

Echo was my favourite character from this wonderful fictional book.It was so adventurous and I loved the part when the little dog ran into his owner’s school but I didn’t like the part when Echo was stolen and was taken all the way to Wellton. It was suspense when Jake called the Dog warden , the Police and Helper Dogs because I didn’t know if they were going to find Echo.

Great book but not good for people who don’t like long books because it’s a long book.

This was a good book. I liked reading about the adventures of Echo. My favourite character was Lenny the vet. I might like to be a vet one day.

My favourite part is when Echo finally passes the test to become a hearing dog for Jake so Jake finally has his dream to have a hearing dog and Echo is the perfect match for him as they have already bonded even though they have only been together for a short time, they simply just connected together. My least favourite part is when Echo is tossed inside a van and into a cage when he was going to retrieve a ball that Tony, Jake’s friend had thrown for him. The man had already kidnapped other dogs from their owners so this was just another one of them dog for him, and when he was found he was sent to prison. hear things. Once he meets Echo, a dog who was training to be a hearing dog, he immediately wanted him to be his hearing dog. Echo manages to pass his training and Jake is so happy with his new buddy. However, his happiness doesn’t last long because Echo is taken away from him and now it was up to Echo to find his way home or for Jake and his family to find Echo and take him home. After journeying in a triangle, Echo finally finds his way back to Jake, and whilst he was in class!

This is a really good book about a hearing impaired boy called Joe. He finds a dog called many names who was found wandering the streets before he was picked up by Hearing Dogs.

This book is really good, and it gives you an insight into what it would be like to be permanently and completely deaf in both ears, and what it's like when nobody understands.

i would recommend this book to anyone who likes dogs and loves adventure after a boy gets a new hearing dog, his life has never been better. but then echo escapes the grasp of a dognapper and is on run to find his way home. this book shows that even if things aren't going well just keep on trying until you succeed.
