Classic tales by Laura Ingalls Wilder about life on the frontier and America’s best-loved pioneer family.

It is time for Laura Ingalls and her family to leave Plum Creek after two poor harvests and an outbreak of scarlet fever, which has left her sister Mary blind. Pa Ingalls finds a job on a new railroad and the family head out West to Silver Lake.

Settling in to Silver Lake, Pa finds the perfect place to build a house and it seems as though the Ingalls’ travelling days may be over.

The timeless stories that inspired a TV series can now be read by a new generation of children. Readers who loved Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and Heidi will be swept up by this timeless rural coming of age saga. Perfect escapism for readers aged 8+. Beautifully illustrated by Garth Williams.

This book was also quite amusing and very enjoyable to read. My favorite character was Mary because in this particular book she becomes blind but even though she had a disability, she can still do all the things sighted people can do with a little extra help. My favorite part was when Laura and Mary lost their baby sister Carrie and they had to go looking for her. Laura found her in a fairy circle. I also like when Laura and Mary get covered in snow in the middle of the night. I love reading about when Pa builds houses because it’s quite fun to hear about how they made them in the old days. I really recommend this book to anyone who loves old timey books.

I loved this autobiography. It was fascinating reading the process of building the railroad in those days. Laura lived in an exciting time! I would recommend it to everybody.

I thought that this book was a very nice and gentle book. I liked Pa in the book because he was always jolly and always had a positive attitude to everything even when there were big blizzards and there was grasshopper weather so the harvest failed.I would recommend it to people over the age of seven as some of the words are a bit confusing.

It is interesting because there is no blurb so it is a mystery when you read it.

Really interesting take on the coming of the railways in late 19th century USA, from young girl's viewpoint. Contrasts a lot with the earlier books.
