another beautifully written Blyton book! I loved the no nonsense approach to the story and as for the plot- well the clues in the name! I loved this book and it ties together really well with the rest of the series however I could also happily read it as a stand alone!

I like this fiction book because Lucy Ann is a very nice character to read about. I recommend this book to 9 year old adventurous children.

It's all about 4 children who go to sea with Bill but Bill gets captured so the 4 children have to save him.

Join Philip, Dinah, Jack and Lucy-Ann (not forgetting Kiki the parrot!) as they go to stay on the bird islands off the coast of Scotland with their friend, Bill. However, some of Bill's enemies are hiding things there and they kidnap Bill so he doesn't interfere with their plans! My favourite character is Lucy-Ann because even though she is scared and timid, she fights her fears and helps the others embark on a journey to save Bill! I would certainly recommend this book because it is a mix of danger, excitement, bird-watching and - of course - adventure!
