Spring According to Humphrey
Betty G. Birney, Jason Chapman
The 12th book in the beloved Humphrey the Hamster series. Everyone’s favourite classroom hamster is back!
Spring has sprung and everyone at Longfellow School, including Ms Brisbane’s class, are HAPPY-HAPPY-HAPPY! It also means Family Fun Night is coming up and all the students’ families are involved in making amazing circus activities.
Humphrey helps in many ways, but he can’t help but wonder about his own family. He doesn’t know anything about them. But when he thinks about all of the wonderful friends he has made at school and at his friends’ homes, he stops worrying.
Just like spring comes with lots of new things that grow and change, Humphrey’s family of classmates and friends will always be growing. And that’s just how he likes it.
With a fresh voice and an engaging hamster’s-eye view of school, families, and treats to hide in a cheek pouch, Betty G. Birney’s Humphrey will elicit laughter and a new appreciation for classroom hamsters everywhere.

My favourite character was Humphrey because he was sweet and was willing to help his friends even though they can't understand him. I also liked his lock that doesn't lock. I would recommend it to anyone who likes animals and adventures.

I think this book was fun to read because the hamster was a really clever hamster he could even read and write. He was a classroom pet and every week he would go with a different student who would look after him on the weekend. He would get out of his cage and go to the other classroom to see his friend but nobody knew that he could read and write or get out of his cage also he could understand everybody and what they were talking about. He would do the lessons with the students everyday. He had a friend who always cleaned the school and his name was Aldo. They are very good friends to each other I like this book because its very interesting and fun to read to your family and friends.

I love all of the Humphrey books they are really fun to read. This book is all about Humphrey the hamster who lives in classroom 26 at Longfellow school. He and his classmates need to find signs of spring and create a project for family fun night. Yes... Humphrey can read and write but nobody knows it except us. If you love animals you will definitely love Humphrey books!!!

This book was funny but had a moral at the same time! A great read for readers who don't enjoy a massive book but don't enjoy a mini book too!
