Magisterium: The Iron Trial
Cassandra Clare, Holly Black
From the imaginations of bestselling authors Holly Black and Cassandra Clare comes a heart-stopping plunge into the magical unknown.
Think you know magic?
Think again.
The Magisterium awaits . . .
Most people would do anything to get into the Magisterium and pass the Iron Trial.
Not Callum Hunt.
Call has been told his whole life that he should never trust a magician. And so he tries his best to do his worst – but fails at failing.
Now he must enter the Magisterium.
It’s a place that’s both sensational and sinister. And Call realizes it has dark ties to his past and a twisty path to his future.
The Iron Trial is just the beginning. Call’s biggest test is still to come . . .
Reviews
This book was really good with thousands of twists and turns especially at the end although I thought Aaron should of been the main character. I also love how Callum sometimes gets really angry and sad - most story book characters don't really have as complex feelings as Callum.I also like how when I was reading this book I was expecting Callum to become the Makar but he wasn't which surprised me and I was glad of that because it is nice when you can't predict a book. I also like how they added another element - usually you don't get chaos. This book is great for fans of the Skandar series.

An extraordinary book which I highly recommend reading to older children. It is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read the rest

I thought this was very good. I was gripped and the twist came unexpectedly. However I don’t think the massive plot twist was delivered as best it could be.

This was a very good book, as the main character finds out that he is in fact the Magic world's greatest enemy! I would recommend it to anyone who likes Harry Potter.

this is a great story filled with mystery and adventure. It is set in a world in which some people possess magical abilities. The school to train these mages is called the magisterium.

When you first meet the main character, Call, it seems that this book is going to be pretty normal, perhaps trying to copy another magic - based novel. I promise it isn't (maybe you will guess that from the prologue). It does take elements from other stories (it's difficult not to) but the way it uses them is completely original in a pretty exciting way!

Hello can I order: 1. The Copper Gauntlet 2. A spoilery free protection to my eyes thing so I don't get spoiled for the book everytime I watch a YouTube vidoe. 3.A punching bag that has Jasper's face on it. Thank you! This was such a unique read and it definitely surprised me with that plot twist towards the end. However, this was very similar to Harry Potter and Percy Jackson which kind of annoyed me a little bit. I definitely recommend this to Potterheads and Demigods [and people who have other book fandoms]. 4.5/5stars.
