Reviews
I liked Kalinka because she cared for the wild wolf dog and the two Przewalski's horses which were rare and were the only last two Przewalski horses in the world. The germans had attacked the other Przewalski horses in the past and now new germans were eager to try out those two Przewalski horses. It interested me because at the end when she got to stay at a woman's house, they wanted to cook the girl for a tasty stew, the wolf dog for several nice roasts and the horses for sausage meat. She found out because the germans stole their food, they ate chickens and everything moving so they now wait for someone to visit them and eat them when they sleep.I would recommend this book to chidren 9 to 12.
