The children in this book are 10 ,11 and12.Anne is 11 and she is young ,gentle and very sweet.She also hates quarrels .Geore is 12 and wants to be a boy so she acts like one.She also has a temper like her father(also known as Uncle Quentin).Dick is 12 and normally starts George’s fierce temper.Julian is 12 like Dick and is the oldest of the four children(not to include Timmy the dog!!) and is sensible and tries to stop George and Dick having a row.Another thing that is good about Julian and his good temper is that George always looks up to him and he can normally put a stop to most of the rows that go on between the cousins.Anne, Dick and Julian are cousins of George and Timmy.Timmy is George’s faithful dog and he can act like a very loyal person to George. This book was very exciting because it was very intresting finding out what they do when Uncle Quentin doesn’t signal like he promised to…I felt a little scared when they go into the passage to find the two people that have gone missing.This book is very good and I would recommend it to anyone that likes adventurous books.

This book is brilliant with tunnels under the sea and enemies that threaten to blow up the island . This is one of Enid Blyton's best books of the series
