When the mysterious Nowhere Emporium arrives in Glasgow, orphan Daniel Holmes stumbles upon it quite by accident. Before long, the ‘shop from nowhere’ — and its owner, Mr Silver — draw Daniel into a breathtaking world of magic and enchantment.

Recruited as Mr Silver’s apprentice, Daniel learns the secrets of the Emporium’s vast labyrinth of passageways and rooms — rooms that contain wonders beyond anything Daniel has ever imagined.

But when Mr Silver disappears, and a shadow from the past threatens everything, the Emporium and all its wonders begin to crumble.

Can Daniel save his home, and his new friends, before the Nowhere Emporium is destroyed forever?

Ross MacKenzie unleashes a riot of imagination, colour and fantasy in this astonishing adventure, perfect for fans of Philip Pullman, Cornelia Funke and Neil Gaiman.

The book is a fictional story about Daniel Holmes, who is on the run in Glasgow from the bullies in his children's home. Daniel needs a place to hide and he goes into a mysterious shop, the owner allows him to wait out the bullies, and offers him a glimpse of magical silver magpies, this starts the adventure for Daniel into the magical world of The Nowhere Emporium. The story is exciting.

This was a really good book, with lots of twists and turns in the story that kept you guessing what was going to happen next. I loved it so much that i cant wait to read the other 2 books in the series. My favourite character was Daniel and what his imagination and dreams could generate. Especially taking the simplest of things and using it against Vindictus Sharpe to save the emporium and the people that he thought of as family. I would 100% recommend this book

I thought this book was one of the best books i have ever read. I was so interested i read it in under 2 days. It was a very intriguing book because there are all sorts of things going on. I liked Ellie the most. Ellie is the emporiums owner’s daughter who cant leave the emporium until the end of the book because her dad is trying to protect her. Anyone who is into adventurer magic or action books would love this.

I liked this book apart from where it was sad at the end. My favorite part was where the Emporium was handed over to Daniel.
