In Enid Blyton’s classic Secret Stories mystery always leads to adventure.

But when they encounter the Old House’s horrid new owner, the children are convinced he is hiding some secrets of his own …

This book was brilliant! Jack, Peggy, Mike and Nora are staying at the beach on holiday when mysterious things start happening. They discover a boy is being held captive in the tower - and he’s a prince!! The children make a plan to save Prince Paul and escape the bad guys. I really like these characters and the adventures they get up to.

I liked this book because it included the secret island as well as a new place (Peep Hole). I liked that there were new characters and that George and Jack both had boats. I also liked that from the top of Spiggy Holes' tower they could see the other tower so they knew someone was there. I also liked how they trapped Mr Diaz and Luiz on the island by taking their boat because they knew they couldn't swim.

I enjoyed this book as much as the last Enid Blyton book that I read. My favourite character was Mike because he came up with a good plan to take the boat and trap Mr Diaz and Luiz on the island. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys exciting and adventurous stories where the characters have a close escape.
