Mortimer Keene: Beast of the Bay
Tim Healey, Chris Mould
A wickedly funny series that will appeal to all young scientists, created by Chris Mould, illustrator of A Boy Called Christmas and Tim Healey. If you like Horrid Henry, you’ll love Mortimer Keene.
Mortimer Keene is full to bursting with madcap plans, and if it’s trouble you’re after, look no further! With laugh-out-loud illustrations, rollicking rhymes, and short chapters perfect for new readers.
The Beast of the Bay has stolen six people on the school fossil-hunting trip. The coastguard are no use – the monster has destroyed their helicopter. Can Mortimer use his new aquaplane to stop the monster before it’s too late?

This is a good book because at the end it gives you facts on the monsters that were in the story! Mortimer is definitely my favourite character.

I liked that this book rhymes because usually shammed books like the ones Julie Donaldson writes for example the gruffalo rhyme. This book rhymes and is a long book with chapter so I think this book is quite unique.

Professor Ice-T Supermarket 31.07.2021

This book is a fiction one. I thought there was too much rhyming, but the graphics were good. The story is about a journey to the beach by a school classroom. then they are attacked by a sea monster. Mortimer Keene flies in an aqua plane with a sound whammer and the beast goes back to the ocean. I will recommend this book. I want to read the next want in the series.

The story was ok, it kept me intrested and it was quite different to any other book ive read. there are alot of pictures and this helps to keep me focused and also it breaks up the amount of reading. this story was non fiction. as for my favourate charactor i didnt have one that sticks out.
