I knew that Ellie could find Abdul's puppy with a recipe from her magical cookbook. I was confused too when it said in the recipe 'get a nice chewy stick' because a stick inside the pie sounded weird. I knew that Ellie could do it because she never gave up and she never did.

I liked the story but I didn't like it when they lost the puppy. My favourite character is Whisk because it was really funny. I would not recommend this to my friends as it was quite long and difficult and parts were sad.

this book is amazing its good because theres a boy its his birthday and his mum bought him a puppy but the playful puppy got lost and the made a meat pie . thats why the stories called perfect pie for a perfect pet.

I think people should read this book because I like the bit where Ellie , Basil and whisk the cat had to go into an adventure before the next instruction magically appeared.

I really enjoyed this book I've already read one I think Ellie Simmonds is a great author.It's Abdul's birthday and he gets a new dog and doesn't know what to name it. So he asks Elie and Basil to help him think of a name. then sadly Abdul's dog gets lost. So Abdul sticks up posters everywhere to let people know. Then Ellie finds a recipe called a perfect pie for a perfect pet. They made this pie for Abdul's dog. So for the pie to cool down Ellie and Basil went swimming and when the looked for the pie it wasn't there.Ellie thought it was whisk but it wasn't.Read this book and you'll find out who ate it!
