A Cat Called Penguin
Holly Webb, Polly Dunbar
From the author of the best-selling LOST IN THE SNOW
Alfie has always loved playing in the overgrown garden next door. It is here he plays with Penguin, an enormous black-and-white cat, a stray who Alfie has claimed as his own. But when his next door neighbour’s granddaughter, Grace, comes to live with her, she decides Penguin belongs to her! Alfie knows he can’t force Penguin to be with him, but he wishes the cat didn’t want to spend time with Grace either. What neither of them realizes is that while they thought Penguin was with the other one, he has actually disappeared…Reviews

I liked it because it was about a cat and his owner because I like cats. And when a girl claims the house next door the boy was worried that the girl would claim his cat Penguin. I liked the boy the most because he was adventurous.

I love this story because of the character of the cat, penguin. Alfie thinks Grace next door is taking his cat, but actually the cat isn’t at any house. Then they go and find Penguin. The story is about friendship. I rate it a 4 because in every chapter the story changes.

Everyone thinks Penguin is a silly name for a cat, but Alfie thinks it's perfect. To Alfie, he's the best cat in the world. Penguin loves to play in the overgrown garden next door. But when a new girl moves in and reclaims it, Alfie worries she might think Penguin belongs to her too!
