Ring of Roses
Mary Hooper
Intensely powerful novel set in London during the height of the Plague in the 1600s. Abby is delighted to be appointed to the position of nursemaid in the well-to-do Beauchurch household. But it’s the summer of 1665, and soon whispers are spreading through London that the Plague is returning. Can Abby keep herself and her small charge Grace safe, or will the disaster engulf them? A companion piece to Mary Hooper’s bestselling ‘At the Sign of the Sugared Plum’. Particularly suitable for struggling, reluctant and dyslexic readers aged 12+

I read this book because it was on my y7 reading list. It's part fiction and part non-fiction as it's set during the plague but the story is made up with lots of factual elements of what they used to do.

I liked it because it was based in the past and it was about the plague. It is a fiction book and my favourite caracter was Abby. It had a few facts about the plauge in it. I would recomend it to the boys in my class.

I am not sure if this is the book I read, but I think it is, so I apologise if I am reviewing the wrong book. This is a really good book. It is about a girl who looks after a baby in London, but then the plague starts to spread, and not many people survive. It definitely makes you want to read more, and when I read it in the car, we arrived at our destination. I didn't want to put it down, even though we were at the seaside!
