Asterix and The Soothsayer: Album 19
René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo
One dark and stormy night, a sinister visitor arrives in the little Gaulish village. Prolix, who claims too be a soothsayer, prophesies that when the storm is over the weather will improve. And it does! Now the credulous villagers believe every word he says, but Asterix has his suspicions of the smooth-talking Prolix. Who is really right about the soothsayer?

I really enjoyed this book it is about a man who comes into one of the Gaul villages and he pretends to read people and he lies to everyone about lots of various things. I really enjoy reading the Asterix series and I would recommend this book.

I liked this book because it is funny and a comic. In the book the gauls are tricked into believing a fraud is a real soothsayer. The person I like best is Oberiix. Geterfix proves to them the soothsayer is a fraud by giving him a surprise.

My favourite character here was the Soothsayer because he was very cunning and mysterious, scary and oblivious. This made me think about ghosts in the night because in the book there was a big storm and a weird knocking on the door. I would recommend this book to people who are in to mystery and magic.
