A good book about an 11 year old girl who has to look after her brothers and sisters while her mum is on holiday with her new boyfriend.

I liked that Lily was responsible for her siblings and Helped hide the fact her mum left them at home by accident. I understand that she said to Mikey that she said it’s ok. When I understand why she did it she should have told the truth.

I really like this book but it isn't one of my favourite books. My favourite character is Baxter because he is so silly!I would recommend this book to anyone in year 5 or over.

I loved this book! It made me laugh and cry. it was super funny but really sad. i would read this book any day. Everyone should read this book. I definately recommend it to any Jaquline Wilson lover as she writes the best books.

This was not the best book I have read, but the story is good , interesting, intriguing and keeps you on your toes. I liked the difference between Lily's fearless attitude and the sweet but frightened kids, especially Bliss. Great book, would recommend.

Well I really enjoyed Lilly Alone I found it extremely interesting. My favourite character was Pixie and I would recommend it to my friends

This book was recommended to me by my sister, i'd usually not go for this genre/type of book, but reading on made me realise how addicting it really is. The plot of the book was based around Lily, a girl in a family of 5, her mum was fairly young when she had her. Her mum used this factor to excuse leaving the children alone in the care of Lily, as a result of this Lily often fantasised about living a life on her own, without a mother or children, Lily often felt as if it was her job to look after her siblings, she pushed her own feelings away until when she was left to her own devices, she would then play the Lily Alone game, to escape from the pressure. She liked designing rooms/houses and had a art pad on which she would experiment on, I feel like Lily's character is quite complex and there are layers of which are not explored in the book, the trauma and weight of keeping her mum safe from social services, etc. I feel like Lily had to baby her mum a lot, she experienced a lack of validation ,and as a result found herself having a love-hate relationship with her family, my favourite character would definitely be Lily, her powerful qualities such as resilience, responsibility and compassion at such a young age could be reflecting having to grow up too fast. I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys Dame Jaqueline Wilson's previous book series', such as Tracy Beaker, The Suitcase Kid as they present serious topics aswell to educate and help children, who are perhaps in/have seen similar situations as those in the books.

Lily Alone is a good fiction book. However, I feel like the author, Jacqueline Wilson ended the book very abruptly. This is something that I did no like about the book at all. My favourite character was Pixie, because she is sweete, cheeky and very talkative.

I really liked this book because it is about a girl called lily who looks after her two sisters and one brother. When their mum goes on holiday with her new boyfriend eventhough she has had three previous boyfriends. I would recommend this to someone else because this book can teach you very important life lessons and it has a bit of relating things from other Jacqueline Wilson books . I hope you will enjoy reading this because I know I really enjoyed it .
