James’ mum is a real computer whizz. She designs computers that can launch space missions. But she’s not quite so good at ordinary, boring mum stuff! Then his mum has an idea – she’ll make him a mother-robot. The Robomum is certainly a brilliant machine. But when James gets ill, he soon realizes that a computer could never replace his mum.

The robomum was a bit silly and tried to multitask.

I liked this book because mum did not do what James wanted. Mum built a robot because she was too busy. Robomum had a pingy voice. When Robomum was playing with James, Robomum kept winning, it was strange.
